RISE Mental Health Support in Schools: Understanding the views and experiences of schools in Gateshead

The RISE programme is part of a joint programme between Health and Education and has been rolled out to schools in Gateshead since May 2019. The programme involves the RISE Mental Health Support Team delivering a whole-school approach of low-moderate levels of mental health support to children and young people into schools. After a review of the service in 2019/20 it was felt to be timely to gather further feedback to ensure that the offering is meeting the needs of local education providers.

During May 2022 schools across Gateshead were contacted to provide feedback on the RISE programme. 39 schools shared their views on the RISE programme, including schools who use alternate mental health provision to the RISE programme, but may use it in the future.
