Historically across our region there has been a relatively low uptake of annual physical health checks for people on the SMI Register (patients diagnosed with severe mental illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, other psychoses and patients on lithium therapy).
Health Innovation North East and North Cumbria approached us to work with patients to co-produce a new letter and leaflet to support the uptake of health checks. Chilli Studios supported us to carry out three interactive workshops, informed by a creative health approach, alongside Eddy from Barking Dog who provided creative design support.

During the workshops we explored the wording and design of letters and leaflets in circulation at the moment and came up with our own ideas for what a letter and leaflet should look like to encourage uptake. Draft designs were critiqued and final design agreed.
