What was required?

We supported the CCG with engagement work for the pilot Trailblazer project, designed to address gaps in the mental health and emotional wellbeing support available in schools. At six months the opportunity was taken to reflect on the implementation and operations of the pilot project.

What did we do?

This evaluation aimed to gather feedback on how the project was perceived by everyone involved. This included mental health practitioners, school staff, young people and their parents/carers who had received support.

Such a wide demographic required our staff to use their experience to select the most appropriate method of information gathering for each group. They were given choices ranging from online questionnaires to face-to-face interviews to be as accommodating as possible and gathered a large amount of feedback.

What was the impact?

The accessible report has been used widely alongside the Trailblazer pilot to inform ongoing development of mental health support in schools. Our support has continued, including a recent project about RISE mental health support in schools.
